5/30/15 Mini Express Haul

I grabbed some super cute stuff at Express today! A lot of their dresses were 40% and all jewelry was buy one get one 50% off, so I thought why not go in?

First thing I got was this super cute, white bell-sleeved dress.

 

Fell in love with this as soon as I saw it. This is actually the first white dress I have ever owned, which is surprising. I’m totally into the whole 70’s revival trend that is happening right now and this embodies the era perfectly. This is definitely a go to dress for anything.

Then I got a necklace to go with the dress. It was practically made for it.

Chunky and bold, I had to buy this because it went perfectly with the dress and I needed a big statement necklace to dress up my more simple, casual outfits.

Suckered into the buy one get one 50% deal, I got another chunky, layered gold necklace.

 

This also reminds me of the whole 70’s era trend. It’s great because there is a lot going on, but not too heavy, which is a problem I come across often in necklaces like these. I like all the intricate details on each circle pendants.

I’m super happy with all the stuff I got! Sometimes, I know I won’t wear stuff I get all the time but I will for sure wear these pieces 24/7!

Very sunny and nice day outside. I was happy that my romper kept me cool and comfortable because it was really humid. I also got a couple of really nice photos of flowers outside and a (in my opinion) superb selfie which will be the new icon for this blog! I hope everyone had a nice of a day as I did 🙂

5/26/15 Random Impulse Purchase- Nike Romper

After the gym today, I decided to just go in and look at workout clothes because why not? At Dick’s Sporting Goods, I happened to find this gem: Nike Women’s Prep Romper.

Now I’m not sure if this is intended to be worn working out, but I don’t plan on doing that. A romper on the StairMaster doesn’t seem too practical. Nevertheless, it is super cute and comfy! Lightweight and casual, this can be worn anywhere with a lot of different pieces. Other pros include a drawstring waist and pockets.

Above, I style it with 3 basic items everyone has (or should have lol): a white tee, printed bandeau, and a Bardot top. I loved how easy it was make different looks with just one piece. Most of the rompers I already own don’t have that kind of versatility, forcing me to wear them the same way every time.

Overall, I am super happy with this impulse buy and think its super cool Nike is doing innovative designs like this! You will definitely be seeing this in all of my OOTD’s for this point forward.

5/24/15 Skin Care Products I Swear By

With the sun starting to come out, skin is a top priority for most. Whether its just putting on sunscreen or an intense mask/cleanser/moisture regimen, it is important to take care of it. So I thought I would share my favorite products/routine with you guys!

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser

I use this everyday, once in the morning and once at night. This is great because it is gentle on skin while penetrating deep into pores to get rid of sweat and all that other disgusting stuff on your face. I have noticed that it prevents annoying pimples that are starting to form from popping up, which is super cool. I received it as a gift from a friend who gets it from a local spa, but I’m sure it’s available online or at Sephora.

Peter Thomas Roth Peeling Gel Exfoliant

Pretty sure anyone that knows anything about skin care has heard about Peter Thomas Roth and all of his awesome stuff, but this exfoliant is truly worth talking about. Once you rub it in, you can visibly see and feel dead skin cells coming off. Very weird but hey, at least you can see it’s working! I use this around once a week, as it is kind of rough on the skin and mine happens to be super sensitive. This is available everywhere, but at Sephora you can get a free mini sample of it to take home.

Peter Thomas Roth Laser Free Retexturizer Exfoliating Scrub

Another great product by Peter Thomas Roth that works just as well as the Peeling Exfoliant with a more deep clean. This dark red scrub takes stuff you didn’t even know was in your pores right out and leaves the skin feeling new and firm. I tend to use this in place of or when I run out of the peeling exfoliant. Once again, Sephora’s free samples are the bomb.

Boscia Intensifying Moisture Pack

My skin dries out really easily from the pool or just harsh windy weather, making a good moisturizer key. In the past, I have had really bad luck with moisturizers irritating my skin. At one point, I had a swollen red patch about the size of two quarters on the left side of my face because of one moisturizer! This Boscia is vegan, made out of friendly ingredients, and the only moisturizer that hasn’t left my skin burning! Unfortunately, Sephora stopped carrying the brand so the only way to get this now is online.

Sunscreen

This is an obvious thing to do if you want to take care of your skin. Regardless of whether your makeup has SPF in it, dermatologists recommend wearing at least SPF 30 everyday, sunny or not sunny. Granted, I haven’t followed that recommendation every single day of my life, but I try my best! I like the baby sunscreen sticks to put under my makeup and for hard to reach/easy to burn spots like the shoulders.

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in about a week! I’ve just been enjoying my time off from school. Some days, I don’t even leave the house which makes it kinda difficult to create content lol. But I’m back and I probably won’t go this long without posting again.

Also, I have decided to stop using my Instagram for this blog. I’m not going to delete it, but I have more followers on here and I only used it to announce new blog posts anyways. I’d much rather dedicate my time on this platform because I can write a lot more on here and reach more people lol.

5/12/15 Express and VS Haul

All this time on my hands now that school is done leads to shopping. A blessing and a curse. I found some really cute stuff at Express and VS today that can be worn through all seasons so that justifies me spending money on stuff I don’t necessarily need. So, let’s start with Express!

Cobalt Blue Off The Shoulder Dress

This did come in black, but I wanted to be adventurous and get something other than another LBD. I am a sucker for off the shoulder and this color. I plan on wearing it with Converse to dress it down a bit out and about. If I ever do want to dress it up, I can easily with jewelry and heels, which makes me love the dress even more.

Black Shirtdress

Okay most important thing first: THIS DRESS IS SO SOFT AND SILKY!!! I literally cannot stop touching it lol. Personally, I have never really liked shirt dresses on me in the past. So buying this was kinda out of the norm for me but I am glad I did. This is such a versatile dress that can be worn anywhere to any event/place.

Victoria’s Secret PINK Ultimate Yoga Shorts

These are the VS equivalent to Lululemon’s Boogie shorts, and they are possibly even better than Lululemon. They don’t ride up as soon as you move (like the Boogie shorts) and have a little pocket for your phone/iPod (which I desperately needed lol) Made out of the “Premium stretch fabric”, these will last a long time. For $10 cheaper than Lululemon, you are getting more out of your money with these.

VS PINK Ultimate Gym Pant

I have been on the lookout for jogger pants that aren’t too baggy, too tight, or too harem-like and today I finally found what I was looking for with these. These fit super well and snug in the right places, but not tight like a legging. To and from the gym or worn as just regular pants with just a plain tee and flip flops, these are perfect for the colder days during the summer. Not to mention that joggers are the new it thing now.

I also got a cute beach blanket for spending a certain amount at VS which has the signature pink stripes and logo on it, so that was cool.

5/3/15- Ulta Haul

Got some super good stuff at Ulta today! Also learned that if you have a rewards card with them, make sure you ask how many points you have and if you can use them. They won’t tell you if you have points, but having just 300 points can get $6 off your purchase and points add up fast! Retail secrets aside, here is what I got:

  Ulta brand Super Blender Sponge

I have been seeing these in every Youtube tutorial lately, so I thought I would pick one up! Whether its concealer or foundation you are applying, this is supposed to be the tool to use for blending and achieving an airbrushed look.

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Riviera Strip

I have been looking for something new to contour with and my last bronzer was one shade and a bit too orangey on my super pale skin. I’m hoping this five-shade bronzer-eyeshadow-blush quad will do the trick! I think this will be nice on any skin tone, but especially for pale people like me with pink undertones that don’t mesh well with typical deep brown/orange bronzer.

Physician’s Formula Translucent Mineral Wear Pressed Powder

I ran out of my usual powder, so I decided to try something new and I gravitated towards this! Translucent and super smooth, this gives just the right amount of coverage, whether wearing alone or on top of foundation. I plan on using this when I need a little extra pizazz on top of my usual BB cream. Also the SPF 30 is a major plus!

IT Brushes for Ulta Velvet Luxe Collection

Confession time: These are the first super good brushes that I didn’t get for free in some sort of package ever. But I am so glad I got them. From the packaging to the brush itself, these brushes are fabulous. There is a full set you can buy, but I just needed a good eyeshadow and contour/blush/powder brush. Super soft and easy to clean, these are a must have.

Maybelline Brow Drama in Blonde

Who doesn’t want Cara Delevinge’s signature full eyebrows? As a dedicated brow pencil user, I wanted to see if a tinted brow gel would make any difference, so I picked this up. This fills in your brows perfectly in just one swipe. However, it is a bit dark, but that is how I wanted it to look. If you want more natural looking brows, I would suggest going a shade lighter, but that might be impossible if you have blonde eyebrows like myself.

Ulta Brand Makeup Brush Cleaner

An essential everyone should have to keep their super cool IT brushes clean and germ free. Enough said.

Katy Perry for Eyelure Lashes in Banging Beauty

Fake lashes are possibly the greatest invention known to man. However, sometimes you don’t want your eyelids to be heavy with sparkly, giant lashes like I have. So, I got these to be my new naturalish, everyday lashes. Just enough volume but not overtop, these are my new staple.
